Bus Updates

  • According to the Kanto Tetsudo website, here is the information about the buses for tomorrow. Bus from Tsuchiura and Tsukuba to Narita: running as usual. TM Liner between Tsukuba and Mito: running, but as the expressways are closed, the bus must use regular roads so will be slower than usual, will not stop at Ishioka Bus Stop. Ibaraki Airport to Tsukuba: running, but 11:35 bus from Tsukuba and 13:50 bus from airport will not run, bus must use regular roads so will be slower than usual. Tsukuba to Haneda: not running. Mito-Tsukuba-Kyoto-Osaka Bus: not running until March 21 at the earliest. (Updated March 15, 2011 at 23:57)
  • According to the Tsukuba City Hall website, here are the expectations for the buses for tomorrow (Monday, March 14). The city buses and TsukuBus will run as usual. The highway buses will not run. The Tsukuba-Mito (TM) Liner willl run as usual. It is not clear if there will be temporary buses launched. (Updated March 14, 2011 at 01:00)
  • TsukuBus is running as normal, but it is making some detours around roads that have cracks in them. This information is from a phone call to Tsukuba City Hall. (Updated March 13, 2011 at 15:21)
  • The highway buses from Tokyo to Tsukuba are not running yet because the highway is still closed. (This information is from a phone call to Kantetsu, one of the companies that runs the buses.) (Updated March 13, 2011 at 14:43)
